It’s important to be thankful. We are certainly thankful for the small and big moments at NSUJL. We are most thankful for our members. We are here to serve you, regardless if it’s just a phone call for advice or when full blown tragedy strikes a family.
It’s been a devastating year with the loss of 21 of our brothers. There were 37 additional accidents. It’s a new record, and one we hope that will never exceed.
We are thankful because our sponsors, IBEW locals, and donors are generous. With those donations we assist families of fallen or injured IBEW Journeymen Linemen, Utility Linemen, Apprentice Linemen, Groundmen, Operators, LCTT and their spouses and minor children. NSUJL’s core belief is that every brother or sister and their family is never to be left behind. The donations help provide financial, physical, emotional assistance and scholarships.
NSUJL assisted IBEW families with over $75,000 in aid for housing, utility and necessities . In addition to financial aid, NSUJL provides emotional and physical assistance also. Examples would be a late night phone call, cooked meals, help with housework. Emotional assistance is a large portion of our help. We are thankful because we have many wonderful people, who are willing to join us every day, in our online community. We could not continue to do the fundraisers, or even just community out reach without such a vibrant group of individuals. We are blessed because you’re not afraid to tell us what we are doing right, and most importantly what we are doing wrong.
We are blessed for our volunteers. We would not be able to grow without you. It’s such a blessing to spread the message of NSUJL throughout the nation. We continue to grow and hope next year will be able to help on a larger scale.
