NSUJL is excited to partner with Good360 to work with corporate organizations, such as Wal-Mart and the Disney Store, in order to receive donations that NSUJL can then pass along to beneficiaries in need.
According to the Good360 website, “Good360 helps companies resolve the business challenge of responsibly distributing excess goods for maximum impact and in doing so, we help our nonprofit partners deliver on their own important missions. Individuals facing challenging life circumstances get the goods they need, generating hope, and products are given a new life, reducing waste and helping build resilient communities for the future.” What does this mean for NSUJL?
Well, in short, when you return a gently used item to a store due to a part missing, or the product wasn’t exactly what you wanted, under normal circumstances that item would get thrown in a dumpster. What Good360 does is works with these large corporations to instead donate these gently used items to non-profit organizations within local communities. NSUJL has received countless items from Wal-Mart and the Disney Store, and in turn, has sent them to beneficiaries across the country in need. Many children have received Anna and Elsa dolls and costumes for their birthdays this year (that seems to be a very popular item, and we were lucky enough to be donated several from Disney), and adults in need have received anything from coffee pots to tools! When an accident occurs and a family finds themselves in financial despair, NSUJL is fortunate that they are able to send everyday household necessities to these families in need – which enables them to then utilize their funds to provide groceries for their families and/or pay necessary bills.
NSUJL would like to remind their families in need that you can always contact NSUJL for an up-to-date list of items we have available. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic items may take longer to ship, but NSUJL will do their best to get them out as soon as possible.
