We have a brother’s wife that need our help. Here’s some background of the accident as it was sent to us:
On May 27th Don was in a substation “checking phases” alone, at night and in a storm, when the panel he was working in sparked, then erupted in his face. The blast blew him on his back, and literally torched the skin off his hands, arms, chest and worst of all, his face. The water company next door heard the explosion and rushed to his aid. At 61 yrs. old, Don was rushed to Metro trauma center with 3rd degree burns on 33% of his body. His nostrils, lips, eyelids and parts of his ears were scorched off. He was completely disfigured. He was not expected to make it through the night, but he did. However, the next day he slipped into a coma. He stayed in a coma, on total life support for two months and things only got worse. While in a coma he suffered a heart attack, major blood infection, kidney failure and worst of all a stroke that paralyzed his entire left side. In that time he went through four skin graph operations and plastic surgery on his face. By some miracle he woke up from his coma only to be forced out of the hospital three days later and put into a nursing home for insurance reasons. Don’s family could do nothing and received no help from the city or CPP. Two weeks later Don was rushed back to the ICU at the Cleveland Clinic and passed away 13 days later from four major blood infections.
This family needs our help. The home is in need of some electrical work in the panel box and a new roof. She is in need of financial assistance now. Don’s assets have been frozen since he did not have a will and they are having trouble obtaining his death certificate.
Let’s show her what the brotherhood is all about! Please make a donation or sign up to work the weekend of Oct 26th-27th in Medina, OH.
