The Lineman Charity Supporting
IBEW Families
Supporting the Families That Power the World
Why NSUJL Was Founded
In 2012, a dedicated group from the “IBEW Wives” community identified a critical gap: there were no dedicated charities for linemen and their families following tragic workplace accidents.
What began as a grassroots effort to support the family of fallen brother John Plante has grown into a nationwide network. Today, we stand as the only organization providing up to 12 months of sustained assistance to IBEW families across the country.
Recognized Support from the IBEW International
NSUJL is proud to be officially recommended by the IBEW International President. We work closely with IBEW Locals nationwide to deliver aid where it is needed most.
How We Serve the IBEW Brotherhood
We provide a comprehensive safety net for those who risk their lives to keep the lights on:
- Financial Aid for Lineman Families: Helping cover essential costs like housing and utilities during recovery.
- Emotional Wellness & Support: Connecting families with resources to navigate the aftermath of an injury or loss.
- Lineman Benefit Rodeo & Events: Our annual Climbing for Lost Linemen ceremony and Benefit Rodeo honor those we have lost while raising critical funds.
- Community Resources: Providing transparent guidance and advocacy for injured workers.
In October 2012, IBEW International President Ed Hill issued a letter recommending all IBEW Locals support and contribute to NSUJL.
This was just the beginning. NSUJL officers and directors also reached out to companies for product donations to help raise funds through basket giveaways.
