L.U. 104, Barrington, NH- Hi everyone, Elizabeth Davidson here in Maine! This was my second rodeo I have attended in Barrington representing NSUJL. Everyone there is always welcoming and very friendly! I was able to meet a lot of new people and help get the word out about us and what NSUJL does. This year I had member Lori Burgess and our daughters attend the rodeo and help out. Despite having a large number of Linemen gone on storm, we received $332 in donations!!! Our biggest sellers were our very own cookbook “The Linewives Kitchen” and The NSUJL children’s coloring book! A big hit with the wives and kids! There is always something to do or watch when you are there. The competitions are always amazing but they really go out of the way to entertain the kids. While we were there all the children were able to go on horse rides, have face paintings, get balloon animals, and bounce away in the bounce house with an obstacle course. Can’t forget the great BBQ lunch they put on and the delicious dinner from KC’s Rib Shack. During the rodeo was a nice small ceremony in honor of Gary Stacy who recently passed away. Gary was the Business Manager and Financial Secretary for local 104. I didn’t know him personally but you could see the great impact he had on the 104 family. 2013 is quickly coming to an end with about 3 months left in the year and another rodeo will be here soon! I cant wait to see what 2014 brings and to be at the next one! I am really hoping we can get some new memberships and help get the word out more about NSUJL. ?
