Empowered

Program Objective:

The purpose of the Empowered Program will be to extend NSUJL’s existing support services for widows and wives of disabled beneficiaries. We have found that in most cases, the aforementioned women need assistance with obtaining higher education, entering the workforce for the first time, or returning to the workforce after many years of being the homemaker. It is our goal to assist in advancing their education and career, therefore empowering them with a self-sufficient and secure future.

Program Scope:

Empowered provides monetary aid, directly to the appropriate institution, for the following:

  • GED diploma
  • Continuing education classes and certifications
  • Trade school or College tuition and required books
  • Childcare tuition

Requirements:

To qualify for aid from NSUJL’s Empowered Program, the applicant must meet one of NSUJL’s standard assistance requirements. Please reference NSUJL Assistance Application.
