To: ALL MEMBERS OF The National Sisterhood United For Journeymen Linemen (NSUJL)

Re: OFFICIAL NOTICE – NOMINATIONS AND ELECTION OF THE NATIONAL SISTERHOOD UNITED FOR JOURNEYMEN LINEMEN (NSUJL)

Dear NSUJL Members: In accordance with The National Sisterhood United For Journeymen (NSUJL) Linemen Bylaws, this will serve as Notice of both Nominations and Election of Officers, who will serve for a three-year term commencing 2014. Offices to be filled are President and Vice President.

Section 7

Duties of President

The president shall, subject to the control of the Board, supervise the affairs of NSUJL and the activities of its other officers. She/he shall chair the membership committee and actively recruit, engage and energize members. Shall handle Grievances with Members, Officers, or Directors and come up with a peaceful solution for all involved. She/he shall perform all duties incident to her/his office and such other duties as may be required by law, by the articles of incorporation, or by these bylaws, or which may be prescribed from time to time by the Board. In the absence of the chairperson, the president shall preside at all meetings of the members and of the Board. Except as otherwise expressly provided by law, by the articles of incorporation, or by these bylaws, she shall, in the name of NSUJL, execute such deeds, mortgages, bonds, contracts, checks, or other instruments which may from time to time be authorized by the Board.

Duties of Vice President

In the absence of the president, or in the event of her inability or refusal to act, the vice president shall perform all the duties of the president, and when so acting shall have all the powers of, and be subject to all the restrictions on, the president. The vice president shall have other powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by law, by the articles of incorporation, or by these bylaws, or as may be prescribed by the Board.

Eligibility for Officer Nominations:

  • I.B.E.W. Journeyman Lineman or spouse thereof;
  • One (1) year of non-interrupted membership in NSUJL;
  • Active participation in volunteer efforts;
  • Current or previous service on one (1) or more committees of NSUJL
  • No criminal record, and
  • Some experience in nonprofit or business operations (not including NSUJL).
